Bride and Groom Exit Ideas

We all know that it became taboo to throw rice because of the innocent little birds.  Brides then switched to birdseed to help save the birds.  Then we began to get creative with tossing rose petals and blowing bubbles.  Here are some new and great ideas to incorporate your wedding theme into your exit.  Enjoy!

Sparklers make a great exit!  Make sure you purchase the long sparklers and also have several lit candles waiting outside.  Have your guests light their own sparkler by dipping the end into the candle.  This will help all of the guests to have their sparklers lit in time for your exit photo.

For the "urban bride" use glow sticks and glow necklaces to have a chic urban exit.

For the "bling bride" use silver glitter for your exit!  It looks like diamonds in pictures and you will add that little extra sparkle to your exit!

For the "rustic" or "green" bride, use lavender!  It is beautiful and smells great too.

When "love is in the air" make these fun paper airplanes for your guests to fly at you.  Perfect for you brides that are flight attendants or if you are marrying a pilot.

The "whimsical" bride will love this colorful and fun idea.  Get assorted colored and sized pom poms from your local craft store.  They will be very colorful in your photos!

Getting married on New Year's Eve?  Let your guests spray you down with silly string as you exit!  Your guests will never forget this moment!

Perfect for a New Year's Day wedding or for a "southern" bride!  Use black eyed peas to wish good luck to you and your groom.

If you are planning a hollywood themed wedding, this is the perfect exit for you!  Use ticker tape for your exit and you are sure to feel like a star!

Beach Balls!!  Use these miniature beach balls for your beach wedding exit.  You will love the colorful look you get in your pictures!

If you want to stay with tradition you can still use the classic birdseed exit.

For something really fun and different, wishing lanterns!  These lanterns are biodegradable and will be an exit your guests wont want to miss!  You are guaranteed to have all of your guests stay to the very end of your wedding!

Firework fountains!  As you drive away the fountains will shoot up and your guests will get a spectacular delight!

Inexpensive Crystal Stands

Today we are using 2 crystal plates, 2 crystal candle holders, 1 crystal bowl, and 1 crystal vase.  I am going to show you how to create different unique stands that can be used at a bridal shower, baby shower, party or wedding.  These are great to use for chips and dip, vegetable crudite, finger sandwiches, candy stations, or small desserts.  Let me know what you use one for!

Today's supplies are these beautiful crystal items and E6000 Glue.  Make sure to use a small amount of the glue to secure your crystal items together.

Mix and match the items to your liking, have fun and be creative!

Add a touch of your own personality and creativity by placing rocks, crystals, jewels, led lights, flowers, or aqua beads inside the vase.

Let me know how you created your own serving stands!  Post pictures on my facebook page to share with us all!

Simple Centerpieces

Are you looking for a simple centerpiece that will be both inexpensive and beautiful?  Candles are a great solution!  Candle light can make a reception feel romantic and warm.  Here are a few easy ideas for gorgeous candle centerpieces.

Look for taper candle holders in different shapes and sizes at local thrift and craft stores. Use taper candles in your wedding colors.  Line the center of your long royal tables and head tables.  Gorgeous and easy!

For your tuscan themed wedding, a great idea is to start collecting your wine bottles.  Line the center of your guest tables with wine bottles with taper candles inserted at the top.  Remember to pre-burn the candles for different amounts of time to give the uneven look.

Another very simple but beautiful idea is to purchase different size candles in the same color and place them sporadically on a mirror.  Not only will the candles let off a beautiful glow, but you will also have the flicker of the light reflecting off the mirror!

Here is a fun idea to add some personality to your wedding!  Purchase a beautiful candle holder that has a stem.  Take a feather boa and wrap around the stem of the candle holder.  You can alternate the height of the candles on different guests tables.  Add a few votives and gemstones around the bottom and you have an inexpensive centerpiece that will reflect your style!

Happy planning!!

Mismatched China

Hello all!
This is my first attempt for my new blog!  I am very excited to start this up.  I will be discussing new trends, teaching DIY projects, and just giving great ideas for your wedding or special event!
I am starting with the mismatched china trend that is very popular in shabby chic and rustic event themes.  I have a couple of events doing this, and another that is thinking about it.

Here you can see how fun it is to use mismatched china. You can collect it from friends and family, rent it, or shop for it at local antique shops.  You can use old quilts, lace doilies, antique linen, burlap, or just plain white or ivory linen to decorate the tables.
Here we have a burlap table cover with mismatched china and mason jars for glasses.

Small china plates and saucers make great cake plates!

Here is a great DIY project!  Use different sized plates, saucers, cups and crystal wine glasses or crystal punch glasses to make these unique stands.  These are great for candy, cupcakes, petit fours, or add a few rose buds or hydrangea to make a beautiful centerpiece!

Enjoy!!!
